Stuart B. Cooney

Mr. Cooney serves as the firm’s managing partner. He has been continuously licensed to practice law in Michigan since 1976. Current areas of private practice include estate planning (wills, trusts, powers of attorney), probate law, real estate transactions, business formation and contract law. Mr. Cooney has litigated in County Circuit Courts (trial courts) across Michigan and has appeared before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.
Mr. Cooney is also legal counsel for Brandon Township in Oakland County since 1990, and has been active in the areas of municipal law, land use and zoning for 30 years. Mr. Cooney was a founding member of the Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Cooney was on active duty with the United States Army from November 1971 to September 1973. He received his juris doctor from the Detroit College of Law in 1976 and a Bachelor of Arts from Albion College in 1970. |
